Greetings Z2ers,
We have been on vacation
the last few days, so this will be short. We traveled to Georgia to see my sister and then to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee
to take pictures of the autumn leaves. It was really pretty, and we had excellent weather. Wish you could
have been with us!
Those that traveled to the Y2 rally in the Whispering Pines learned how to play Redneck Golf. We
almost wore out the roped golf balls. The best thing I learned is that I want Gertsie on my side when we play any games. We
all decided to have Redneck Golf at our next event. We stopped at Kitchen’s Hardware in Mineola and had breakfast before
the rally. It is actually an old hardware store that serves food.
Don’t forget to turn in your
order forms and checks to me, or go directly to EmbroidMe and get a Chapter shirt and hat. If you need any information let
me know.
We are in the early planning stages of the Christmas party. As of now, it will
be Saturday Dec. 6, so mark your calendar and put your thinking caps on and help us plan a good time. The
place is yet to be determined. Any suggestions???
Ride Safe,
Norman and Nancy
Chapter Talk
On Thursday, September 25, 2008, the Lonestar Z2 Chapter of GWRRA was called to order at 7PM, by Chapter Director, Norm
Gound. We welcomed prospective new member, Mark Perlstein and a visitor from Ohio, Jeff Black.
Norm had on the new Chapter shirt. It looked good, but we decided to change the color of the printing….from
blue to gold. Cost will be about $29.00 for the shirt and $16.00 for the cap. The polo
shirt can be ordered in short or long sleeve. Calendar highlights were read and accepted. Al
Koke explained that even if one can’t ride on Sunday, October 5, 2008 with the Ride For Kids, donations can be sent
by mail to the organization. This meeting was shortened so that the Chapter could participate in the fund
raising for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Foundation that was being held at Maxium Sports. The meeting
was adjourned at 7:15PM.
